Seeing as just about everyone I know who's on (streams) also runs their own server, I have a question:
Has anyone ever cloned their channel to someone else's server? Or from a server run by someone else to another server run by yet someone else?
Did existing posts and images and other files follow? Were new posts and images and other files successfully sync'd?
Or has this only ever been tested under lab conditions, between two servers with the same owner, in four years?
I'm asking because I've got two channels on the same two servers. Both have their main instance on the same server,
https://streams.elsmussols.net, and both have one clone on the same server,
https://nomad.fedi-verse.hu.I still cannot get content created on or uploaded to the main instance to sync to the clone. No posts, no image files. Neither existing content nor newly-created or newly-uploaded content.
Maybe this is important to know: The account with the main instances was created in July, 2024, shortly after FEP-ef61 with its DIDs was rolled out with a release, as in during the ID chaos during which (streams) didn't federate with anything. The account with the clones was created after things had settled, when (streams) had become actually stable again.
Could it be that channels created on accounts registered during the DID chaos are half-uncloneable?
