I think there is still some debate on the meaning of 'singularity'. Is it the point when machines are able to evolve to mimic and/or surpass human intelligence, or the point where human intelligence declines due to market and political manipulation and devolves to the point that an LLM starts to look smart in comparison?

Some say this has already happened.

I recall years ago it was when the exponential technology curve goes straight up. some say it's the end of humanity, some say literally everything will be completely different on the other side.
