One solution to not involve the AP protocol in this group is to write posts just for followers, in this way the comments will automatically follow the main envelope (which is closed to the public), otherwise every public comment inevitably involves AP.

I'm not sure what you're saying here. Do you want the streamsgarden group to change its settings, or do you mean that group members should post with different settings?

(Usually I post to groups by sending a Direct Message to the group.)

Or maybe I can create a alternative group with just followers as envelope e nomad/zot protocol.
I did test today , a channel with just 2 AP connections, but when I comment in a conversation, with 3 or 4 AP dudes, but every dude having more than 200 followers , the hell starts, the problem is not directly my delivery, but the reaction that ap sites have when I write in the AP universe.

But this group already has ONLY Nomad/Zot6 members. It's a public group, but I'm pretty sure it only sends posts and comments to its members. I will double-check that.

The problem is that the members just can comment with public comments, if you set not public and just members, than you ”delete" the AP universe in all possible ways

Just checked the delivery report for the above comment, and yes, it was only sent to group members, and none of them are using ActivityPub.

Today it is no longer possible to respect the order dictated by the conversation leader's envelope when members comment publicly, today every public comment that a person with activitypub connections creates becomes an activitypub post even within a nomad-only group.

Ah, okay, now I understand you. You are right, this comment will go from my channel to the group AND to a lot of my connections. (Why???) Then the group will forward it to group members.

I remember I asked Mike about this... I'll check my notes when I'm back at my computer.

The group is public. Therefore (if the group publishes it) your comment will also be public.

When you make a comment in a public conversation, the friend-of-friend setting allows that public comment to also be sent to your followers. They may or may not try and re-assemble the original conversation. This allows you to see public conversations your friends participate in. If you don't want this behaviour, turn the Friend-of-friend setting off.

The per-connection setting determines if you accept inbound comments from this channel without already having the thread parent stored locally. It doesn't do anything that would change outbound behaviour.
