also the US is facing several 'sputnik' moments at a time when we have a bunch of dunces running things. i mean like the person in charge of education refers to AI as "A One" because she's dogshitforbrains like the others. it's not likely to inspire anyone to do anything worthwhile in my opinion.
but we don't actually have to be competitive i guess. the amusing shit going on is companies especially like tech companies hate unions and everyone is out to screw the little guy it seems, but they want to build these data centers and can't find HVAC people. and they can't just order an HVAC system from china and plug it in.
