Now that the idea is in front of me, I'm surprised it hasn't been done before now. However, I have to say that having a driver with "skin in the game" (being in the vehicle with me) is comforting. Whether this is more or less scary than a self-driving car, I will have to think about more.

Edit: Silly me, I should know better than to trust headlines. These people will be monitoring self-driving cars, not being the full-time driver of the cars.
