Had a friend who once got a ticket for not stopping at a stop sign. He disputed the charges and went to court and provided a very elaborate defense citing physics. "My car rolled backward at the stop sign. According to the law of physics, if you travel forward and then roll backward - at some point your velocity is zero. Stopped. Might only be a microsecond, but the car was stopped".
The ticket was dismissed.
I was congratulating him on his cleverness when he shyly admitted "I never rolled backward...".
